Stay Tuned for 2026 〰️

The Parlor Trick Print Exchange is a fun way to connect with printmakers all across the United States!

This year’s exchange will be open to 75 printmakers. Each participating artist mails in an edition of 12 hand-pulled original prints of a certain theme and size criteria. Of the 12 prints, 2 will be kept by the Parlor Trick Print Exchange for archival and promotional purposes. The remaining prints are randomized, sorted and sent to the other participating printmakers in the exchange. In the end, each artist will have 10 new pieces of art sent to them and their prints will be shared with 75 other artists across the nation. There will be a virtual art exhibition here on ParlorTrickPrints.com to showcase everyone’s submissions.

This exchange is partially funded by a DCLA Art Fund Grant from Staten Island Arts,
with public funding from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.

What is the
Parlor Trick Print Exchange?

  • Open to all U.S. Printmakers and is limited to 75 participants. All forms of editionable, hand-pulled prints are acceptable, including etching/aquatint, lithography, woodcut, linocut, mezzotint, and screenprint. No monotypes, giclées, reproductions, or photographs. To prevent damage to other entries, no glitter, attached objects, or 3-D work.

  • For the 2026 exchange, there will be a $10 fee to participate.

    What does $10 get you?
••• all shipping and postage fees included
••• 10 original prints from participating artists in an exclusive limited edition screen printed box by yours truly
••• a fun variety of exclusive stickers
••• your artwork included in a virtual exhibition here on parlortrickprints.com
•••a chance to build connections with printmakers across the country!

  • The theme this year is “Human.”

In a current landscape overloaded with technology, what does it mean to be human? Can it be defined by our bodies or by our minds? What sets us apart from other species? What keeps us connected to other species while coexisting on this planet? How has creativity shaped the landscape of humanity, and what does it look like going forward? The word “human” is up to your interpretation, so let your creativity come alive! What does being human mean to you?

  • JUNE 6th, 2026: Registration Opens

AUGUST 29th, 2026: Registration officially closes (Registration closes once we reach 75 artists).

OCTOBER 3rd, 2026: Submission Deadline (Submission must be received by this date!)

NOVEMBER 7th, 2026: Your variety of 10 prints from participating artists will be shipped out.

DECEMBER 5th, 2026: Virtual Exhibition will go live on parlortrickprints.com/print-exchange

  • 12 identical prints are needed for the exchange.

Each print needs to be signed and numbered along the bottom edge of your prints. The edition number goes on the bottom left-hand side and should be numbered 1/12, 2/12, 3/12, etc. The bottom right-hand side should have your artist’s signature and year.

(Note: Making an edition larger than 12 is allowed, however, the first 12 in the edition ideally should be used for the exchange.)

  • The paper size MUST be 5” x 7” (127mm x 178mm). The image does not need to fill the whole page. Any sizes over or under 5”x7” will be returned and disqualified. All prints must be printed on archival paper, such as Fabriano, Rives BFK, French Paper, etc.

  • All shipping costs such as postage, mailers, etc. are included in your exchange fee. Here is how it will work:

•••Sign up for the exchange by filling out the form below with your name, address and social media information.

•••You will then be mailed a welcome packet that will include the edition instructions, sheets of tissue paper or glassine, and a return label and mailer.

    •••PRINT!

•••When you are finished with your edition, place a piece of tissue or glassine between each print for protection. Place the prints in the new mailer with the return label attached.

•••Mail back to Parlor Trick Prints.

•••Wait for your random mix of exchange prints!

  • This year we will have a virtual exhibition right here on ParlorTrickPrints.com/ going live on Saturday, December 5th.

The Parlor Trick Print Exchange helps connect printmakers across the United States! The exchange is partially funded by a DCLA Art Fund Grant from Staten Island Arts, but there is a lot of extra work that goes into making this exchange happen. Any donations to cushion extra costs will help this program continue next year!
